Marlene Nielsen is from from lake Iliamna (Nanvarpagmiut). She taught herself to sew and process fish skins and has made fish skin dolls, boots and parkas. Marlene shares, "I’m still teaching cultural activities to students and adults. I always say be proud of your achievements. There is no right or wrong in art."
